Flower
Effects of smoking or vaporizing flower can be felt within 5 minutes.  New cannabis users can acclimate to the euphoric effect of THC in small doses.  Wait at least 15 minutes between inhalation “hits” to test tolerance.  Frequent inhalation may be required for pain relief.  Duration of effects varies but can last up to 5 hours.

Concentrate
THC levels can reach as much as 90% in some concentrate products, be aware that less frequent inhalation is required with concentrates than flower.  Effects of smoking or vaporizing concentrates can be felt within 5 minutes. Wait 15 minutes between inhalation “hits” to test tolerance. Duration of effects varies but can last up to 5 hours.

Edible
Start low and go slow! Inexperienced cannabis users should start with 2.5mg-5mg, wait 24 hours to evaluate the effects.  Intermediate cannabis users can start with 10mg.  Experienced cannabis users can start with 20mg+.  Increase your daily dose in increments of 2.5mg-5mg until you find relief.  Edibles can take 45 min-2 hours to feel the effects.  Do not take an additional dose for at least 2 hours. The duration of these effects varies but can last 6-8 hours.

Sublingual
Start low and go slow! Inexperienced cannabis users should start with 2.5mg-5mg, wait 24 hours to evaluate the effects.  Intermediate cannabis users can start with 10mg.  Experienced cannabis users can start with 20mg+.  Increase your daily dose in increments of 2.5mg-5mg until you find relief.  Sublingual products can take as little as 15 minutes to feel effects due to oral mucosal absorption.  Allow the liquid to absorb under your tongue.  Do not take an additional dose for at least 1 hour.  The duration of these effects varies but can last 6-8 hours.

Topical
Topical cannabis products do not produce a psychoactive effect. However, you still do not want to waste the product by using more than needed.  Start with a small amount and rub into the affected area.  Wait 30 minutes to monitor effects before reapplying.  It is best to use a salve (ointment consistency) for small areas and use lotion or creams for larger areas.   Relief can last up to 3 hours.

Transdermal
Transdermal application will provide a slow and consistent delivery of THC into the bloodstream without the intense psychoactive high.  Apply to any venous area of the skin for best results.  Effects can be felt in 15-30 minutes and relief can last up to 12 hours.

SuppositoryBy entering the bloodstream through rectal mucosa absorption and bypassing the liver, this method does not provide a strong psychoactive effect.  Effects can be felt in as little as 15 minutes and last up to 8 hours.  New cannabis users can start with high doses instead of trying to build a tolerance through oral delivery.
